On October 27th, the downpours stopped and the clouds parted to make way for sunshine just in time for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

We were honored to have Mayor Sheila Dixon attend and speak about how vital small businesses are not only to the city, but to a vivacious tourism industry.

Scott Bushnell of Bushnell and Bushnell Services then spoke about the changing face of the Bed & Breakfast industry.

Barry Werner finally had the last words, announcing a new design concept for the entire B & B. Over the next five years he and his partner Jeff Finlay will be changing the name from Scarborough Fair Bed & Breakfast to Ex Libris Bed & Breakfast. Each room will be inspired by the life and works of favorite authors. These authors include Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne, The Brothers Grimm, Victor Hugo, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Agatha Christie. The rooms will undergo renovations and redecorating that is more in line with the new owners' personal style of Classic European style with a modern aesthetic.

“Ex Libris will offer all of the homey comfort you have come to expect with an added level of pampering and charm,” Werner said at the ceremony. “The changes will be gradual.”
